Along with building and designing large scale skate parks for municipalities across the world, our crew also constructs killer side projects in their spare time that greatly benefit the local skate scene. Like this backyard gem featured above. Constructed for a fellow skater who had an odd space to work with and being very limited; the crew knew a traditional wooden ramp or bowl wouldn’t of done the trick in this backyard. This is where concrete reigns supreme, not to mention at a fraction of the price compared to the traditional wooden route. This hidden gem is complete with Tedder Stone coping and will keep you on your toes! It’s safe to say the DIY movement is going strong in Florida! Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all our latest news and segments.
Concrete pouring has begun and the guys are working steadily on the bowl area of our Pueblo, Colorado project. The bowl featured below is 9.5ft in the deep end and 6ft in the shallow area, featuring a bonus corner which opens up some options. It would be insane, to see a gap from deep to shallow over the bonus pocket, anyone in Pueblo, CO up for it!!? The second bowl is 8ft in the deep end and 5ft in the shallow, ideally a more user friendly option. Remember to check in regularly and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with all our projects!
It’s been a few weeks of construction now in Apex, North Carolina and as of recently the crew’s been battling the conditions and getting slammed with rain, not to worry the project is coming along nicely! Check below for the most recent additions!
Progress is happening quickly for our Apex, NC project. We’ve begun the pouring stage of the project and couldn’t be more stoked about moving forward with everything. Stay tuned for more updates and news coming out of Apex!
This was a first for Cocoa Beach Skate Park here in Florida. It took place in the bowl and flow course area and some of the top local Amateurs and Masters, including “Jimmy The Greek” and Buck Smith to name a few, competed against each other in their respected divisions to take home some cash! The $5,000 purse even enticed some out of state competitors to join the mix! There was also a live broadcast of the event on cocoabeachskatepark.com that ran live the entire time of the event. We talked with Scooter Newell, the man behind the entire event and ensured us they’re looking to make this an annual event out in Cocoa Beach! If you didn’t have a chance to go to this killer event in person, rest assured you’ll have your chance in 2016. For now, check out the photos and video recap below to find out who took home the cash and claimed the title of 2015 Cocoa Beach Open winner!
Looks like it is getting down to the wire in Zephyrhills, Florida. As you can see; This park is packed full of awesome features such as the China-Bank, Jersey Barrier, Drainage Ditch, Railroad Track Flat-Bar, Hand Rail, Manhole Volcano and much more. This park isn’t done yet though! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with everything that is going on here at Team Pain.
The new skate park in Zephyrhills, Florida is quickly becoming a well-rounded visual treat. The China-Bank has a hip going in the middle of it that adds dozens of options, and a manhole volcano on the corner that is equally as awesome. The bowl is ready to go, and the colored concrete on the flat bottom matches the tiles and makes this bowl almost as exciting to look at as it is to skate. If you look closely, you will notice that the flat bar on top of the bank is actually made of a piece of an actual railroad track. With the train running directly across the street from the park, this rail-road themed flat bar makes this skate park feel right at home here in Zephyrhills.
As you can see here, the bowl is on its way to being finished and the street course is starting to take shape. You can already start to see some hips, rails, China Banks and quarter pipes coming to life. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the latest updates
