Did you know that Rio Grande Skate Park of Aspen, Colorado was the first Skate Park using colored concrete and natural boulders? The 17,000 sqft park was completed by Team Pain in November of 2000 and is known for its smooth concrete. The park has a wide range of skate elements and is well liked by all ages. Aspen helped kick start the flourish of skate parks in Colorado and as of 2013, the state now has over 150 quality skate parks!
In 2002, Aspen received a “Merit Award for Design from the Colorado Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects” and it is still receiving recognition in the skate park industry to this day.
It’s often said that after the heavy snow storms this clover bowl is the first to get cleared out!
