Wow! What a great turnout at the Eustis grand opening. After the dismal report of rain all day the day before we were expecting no one to show up but to our surprise there were 30 kids skating underneath the pavilion at 9am when we arrived ! What a great idea the city had. In Florida it rains so much that Rick, Eustis director of Public Works, insisted that we have some elements placed under the pavilion’s covered roof for the kids to ride. This was definitely and win-win for everyone. The ribbon was cut at 10:30 and finally the rain stopped! By this time there were over 200 people there laughing, skating and eating free hot dogs provided by the police chief Adam Bolt!

Special thanks to the City of Eustis. They went above and beyond with all the landscaping improvements including trees, sidewalks and asphalt they put down. The city also totally sandblasted and repainted the areas surrounding the pavilions to provide a fresh and smooth surface to the rest of the existing park.

Mike Rogers with Grind for life showed up, set up his tent, and ripped the bowl all while fighting caner. Brett from 4 wheel skate shop, Eustis’ brand new skate shop, was out all day giving away products and shop t-shirts. A big thank you goes to our best pal Keith Gib from plus skate shop. Keith came from Orlando out to Eustis and brought a ton of product to give away to local skaters all while announcing best trick contests in three areas of the park including the hand rail section, the grass gap ledge, and the bowl.
