Every year on June 21st, skateboarders around the globe celebrate the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of the most influential activities in the world by doing nothing but skateboarding! Most of us skateboarders do this every day, but as a family, this our chance to raise awareness and show the world that skateboarding is much more than just a piece of wood with four wheels. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Go Skateboarding Day! Since that first celebration, the holiday has grown so large and continues to grow, but the mission remains the same: Have fun, go skateboarding! 🙂

Founded by the International Association of Skateboard Companies, Go Skateboarding Day gives passionate skateboarders as well as those who are simply inspired by skateboarding, the opportunity to get on a skateboard. It originated as the day for skateboarders to have fun, to raise awareness about the issues we face; to show the world what skateboarding is really about. So just get out there, have some fun and skate!!!

WHERE WILL YOU BE ON GO SKATE DAY THIS YEAR?!
Looks like we’re going to be in NYC!!! 5boro teamed up Nike Skateboarding and a few other  sponsors to celebrate with all of the local NYC skaters! They are holding events at 3 different locations throughout New York City starting at 12:00 noon. Rumor has it that a hand full of Nike’s Professional Team will be skating at the events…We’re excited to see what third location is, and why is it left unknown…see you there!!!
