FIELD REPORT: Gunnison, Colorado

Reporting for duty sir!  The crew has set up camp in Gunnison Colorado to begin the new Team Pain concrete project.  Big thanks to Jeff Wastell from the ARVADA ARMY for donating his hunting tent so the boys can paid and relax in the shade.  Stay tuned to see our crew make this park come to life with the MASH themed field reports!

Team Pain in the New THRASHER!

This month in the new Thrasher Magazine the Krooked team went through Colorado and stopped at Team Pain’s Arvada Skatepark and shot some great photos.  Also, a photo of Arvada from Toy Machine’s “special olympics” trip and a photo of roxborough in the “photograffiti” section in the back.

Two pages of Arvada!

New Year, New Site

How do we look? We have been working on our new site getting it ready for 2012 with a completely new layout. Take a look around and you’ll notice how much easier it is to navigate the website, and how much more organized everything is. One of the coolest new features is how our parks list is setup. You can find what park you are looking for, and it will give you photos of the park, featured videos of that park, as well as a google maps location so you can get to that park with ease. Give us a few days to work through some initial kinks in the site, we are going through and making sure everything is working properly. Everything should be running smooth after a few days. We have a lot in store for 2012, so make sure to check the site and our facebook frequently for updates!

Team Pain in TIME

It is always sick to have our parks featured in various magazines, but when a magazine like Time features your work, it is a true honor. Check out this article Time Magazine did on the aesthetics of skatepark design in the August issue of 2006 titled “It’s all in the Swoop.” The park we designed and built in Aspen, Colorado (park featured above article) was featured for the unique way it’s colored concrete helps blend the park into it’s nearby mountainous surroundings. Check out the full article here.

Keith Ladzinski for Team Pain

We are constantly looking for the sickest photos of our parks. Not only is it a challenge to find a photographer who knows what they are doing, but one that knows how to shoot photos from a skateboarder’s perspective. Keith Ladzinski was mentioned to us through the grapevine of skate industry exec’s, and we couldn’t be more stoked to work with him!
